Frequently Asked Questions

How do I extract colors from an image?

On the home screen, tap Gallery or Camera to select an image. Colors are extracted automatically. You can switch the algorithm (K-means / Median Cut / Octree / Wu) and adjust the color count (2–20) using the segmented control and slider.

What's the difference between the four algorithms?

How do I get accurate CMYK values for printing?

Go to Settings → ICC Profile Management → tap the + button and import a .icc / .icm file. Direct links to Adobe and ECI official downloads are provided in-app. Once a profile is selected, the color detail card shows accurate ICC-based CMYK values.

When no ICC profile is selected, simple mathematical CMYK is shown (preview-grade only — not suitable for production printing).

What are color harmonies?

Five harmonies generated in the OkLCH color space from your selected base color: complementary, analogous, triadic, split-complementary, and tetradic. Access via the Harmony button on the palette screen.

Can I export to other apps?

TetoColor exports to four formats:

Choose a format on the export screen and use the share sheet or save to file.

How do I change the app language?

Go to Settings → General → Language and choose System default or one of the 15 supported languages. Changes apply immediately — no restart needed.

About advertising

TetoColor is supported by Google AdMob ads to remain free. Banner ads appear at the top of home / palette / harmony / export screens. Interstitial ads appear after every 3rd successful color extraction.

On iOS 14.5+, you'll see Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt on first launch. Declining still gives you the full app — only non-personalized ads will be served.

Pricing

TetoColor is free. There are no in-app purchases or subscriptions. The app is funded entirely by ad revenue.
